House Photos - Pre-renovation
Throughout the past 3 years of living in the house, I have made a number of updates. Mostly paint and decor, but new flooring in the bedroom that became my office, and in the guest room in the basement, as well as modernizing the basement bathroom.
A couple of small things - I built a handrail on the stairs as it does get slippery in the winter, and also easier for those with decreased mobility.

A couple of shrubs were removed/trimmed to be easier to manage, as I am not as great a landscaper as the previous owners!

Most of the main floor living space was untouched, aside from new paint!

Dining Room

Living room - here you can see the view!! You can also see how much space the fireplace takes up when furniture is in place.

Also, introducing my two cats - Scarlet is the tiny orange tabby sitting on the far side of the sofa. She will be 17 years old this May! And OC (yes, short for Other Cat!) is to the right of the fireplace having a snack! He is 13 and is a very large Russian Blue.

It's amazing the beautiful morning sunlight (and sunrises) you get from here!

The odd space opposite the fireplace became my yoga and workout space!

The kitchen was made more functional with a small island.

The carpet floor was replaced by look-alike hardwood to match the rest of the main floor. The papasan chair is OC's favourite place to sleep while I'm working.

The primary bedroom was painted with a feature wall, and the wall sconces removed, since they weren't really in the right place to be bedside lights!

The third bedroom on the main floor is my partner's office, and a futon for additional guests when needed.

The bathroom got a new coat of paint, which makes it so much brighter. You may note the shower curtain (instead of glass door... one of the doors imploded last year - apparently it happens every so often) but it is too old to find a replacement, so a shower curtain it is!

The basement guestroom turned out to be one of my favourite rooms in the house. A new coat of paint and new flooring gave it a completely new look!

The basement bathroom definitely needed some work: a new toilet and vanity were installed, as well as new lighting and mirror. The bathtub and tile surround were painted white, and wallpaper was added to finish the look!

The main area in the basement was one I was hoping to update earlier, but I ended up having to take out all of the ceiling tiles, drywall and insulation because of a mouse issue (more to come on that!), so at this point it has new insulation and vapour barrier, but no drywall, and this room is just used for storage.

I am so excited for what is coming next...
