Holes in your Socks??

Have you ever wondered what to do with those individual (or pairs of) socks that manage to get holes in them?! Or those random single socks where the matching one gets forever lost when going through the laundry?! Or like me, you collect them since you don't want to throw them in the garbage without having a better purpose or the ability to recycle them?
For the month of April, Smartwool will collect any brand, colour and material of socks for their recycling program. You can mail them directly to Smartwool by printing off a shipping label from their website, or for those in Canada, take them into a number of participating retailers, including Mountain Equipment Company, Sail and Bushtukah (for those of you in Ontario!).
They ask that the socks are clean and not attached to each other in any way (rolled or with clips or held together with rubber bands).
For more information, or to print your label or find a drop-off location, visit the Smartwool website. You can also purchase socks made from socks that were previously donated!
I'm always looking for ways to recycle or re-use, rather than throw things away :)
